Oldest temples in Vietnam

Vietnam's oldest temples are mostly in and around Hanoi, though nearly all have been rebuilt and the dates refer to their foundation. Dau Pagoda in Bac Ninh, from about 187-226 AD, is held to be the earliest Buddhist centre in the country. My Son, the Cham sanctuary near Hoi An, was built from the 4th to the 13th century and survives as original brick ruins. In Hanoi itself come Tran Quoc Pagoda on West Lake, the One Pillar Pagoda, rebuilt in 1955, and the Temple of Literature of 1070. The Perfume Pagoda, south-west of Hanoi, is reached by boat and cable car.
