Oldest temples in Turkey

After the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, of which a single re-erected column stands, and Hagia Sophia, completed in 537, this list jumps eight centuries to the Isa Bey Mosque at Selçuk, built by the Aydınid emirs in 1374-1375, and to the Great Mosque and Green Mosque of Bursa, the first Ottoman capital. The Istanbul classics follow, three of them by Sinan: Mihrimah Sultan in Üsküdar, Süleymaniye and Rüstem Pasha, with the Blue Mosque last. Eyüp Sultan's date is its founding; the present mosque is of 1800.
