UNESCO World Heritage temples in Nepal

Four of these five belong to the Kathmandu Valley listing, which groups seven monument zones; the fifth, the Maya Devi Temple, stands in Lumbini, the Buddha's birthplace on the southern plains. The order follows tours sold: Pashupatinath on the Bagmati, where non-Hindus watch the cremation ghats from the opposite bank, then Swayambhunath and Changu Narayan. Boudhanath is usually visited as part of a valley day tour. Lumbini is a long drive from Kathmandu, or a flight to Bhairahawa.
