Temples near Shanghai

Shanghai's temples sit in three clusters. The City God Temple beside the Yu Garden and the Confucius Temple are both in the old walled city; the Jade Buddha and Jing'an temples are in the central districts, the second right by its own metro station; and Longhua, with the city's oldest pagoda, is to the south-west. For a day trip, Suzhou's leaning Tiger Hill Pagoda is about half an hour by high-speed train plus a taxi ride, easily combined with the classical gardens.
