Temples with free entry in Spain

Spain's free entries are monuments rather than working temples. The Temple of Debod in Madrid, a Nubian shrine given by Egypt and rebuilt in the Parque del Oeste in 1972, is free and at its best at sunset. In Barcelona four Corinthian columns of the Temple of Augustus stand in a courtyard on Carrer del Paradis. Cordoba has two: the Roman temple, seen from the street, and the fourteenth-century synagogue, free for EU citizens with a token fee for others. Interiors are small, so expect short queues.
