Oldest temples in Morocco

Morocco's list runs from the 9th century to 1993. The Al-Qarawiyyin in Fez, founded in 857 or 859 by Fatima al-Fihri, is often described as the oldest continuously working university in the world; the Koutoubia in Marrakesh was begun in 1147 and its minaret finished around 1195. The Grand Mosque of Chefchaouen is traditionally dated to 1471, though some sources place it in the 16th century. Non-Muslims cannot enter these mosques; of the six, only the Ibn Danan Synagogue in Fez and the Hassan II Mosque, on guided tours, are open inside.
