Temples near Xi'an

Xi'an's three entries are all inside or close to the city walls. The Great Mosque, built in Chinese style, lies in the Muslim Quarter near the Drum Tower, and the two Tang pagodas, the Small Wild Goose and the Giant Wild Goose, stand south of the walls a short taxi ride apart; the square below the larger one is busiest at the evening fountain show. Famen Temple, with its crypt of Tang relics and huge modern stupa, is about two hours west by road, often paired with the Qianling tombs.
