Near a city
Hue's two entries lie on the north bank of the Perfume River a few kilometres west of the Citadel: Thien Mu Pagoda, whose seven-storey tower is the city's emblem, and the Temple of Literature nearby. A dragon boat trip or a bicycle ride along the river reaches both, often combined with the royal tombs. Linh Ung Pagoda in Da Nang and My Son Sanctuary are 85 to 100 km south, over or under the Hai Van Pass, and suit a day tour or a stop on the way to Hoi An.
