Temples near Da Nang

Da Nang's own entry is Linh Ung Pagoda on the Son Tra peninsula, with its white statue of the bodhisattva of compassion, about 67 m high, facing the sea; a taxi or scooter is the way up. My Son Sanctuary, the forest ruins of the Cham kingdom, is about an hour away and best visited early, before the heat. Hue's Thien Mu Pagoda is some 85 km north, reached by train along the coast or by road over the Hai Van Pass, which makes a full but rewarding day.
