Temples near Kuala Lumpur

In Kuala Lumpur the National Mosque, which lends robes to visitors, and the hilltop Chinese Thean Hou Temple are short taxi rides apart. Batu Caves, about 11 km north, has its own station on the KTM Komuter line; expect a steep climb of 272 steps and cover your knees, as sarongs are rented at the foot. The pink-domed Putra Mosque in Putrajaya is half an hour south by train or car. Malacca's Cheng Hoon Teng Temple and the Straits Mosque are about two hours away by bus.
