Two temples in Battambang. Ek Phnom Temple has no online ticket listed; Phnom Banan Temple has no online ticket listed. The table and the two notes below put them side by side; the full pages have what to see, the ticket and the timing for each.
No ticket for Ek Phnom is sold online. The ruined Angkorian temple stands in Ek Phnom district of Battambang Province, about 11 km north of Battambang town, and a small fee is collected by a local attendant at the entrance to the site. Bring some small notes in US dollars or Cambodian riel, as card payment is not available.
Most visitors come by tuk-tuk from Battambang, either hiring a driver for a half-day loop or for a full day that takes in the countryside sites around the town. The road follows the Sangker River through villages where families make rice paper, dried bananas and fermented fish paste, and drivers often stop at these home workshops on the way.
No advance ticket for Phnom Banan is sold online. Foreign visitors pay a small fee at the foot of the hill, where the steps begin, and that is all the paperwork there is; Cambodians and monks go up free. The money is collected by local staff, so carry small notes in US dollars or riel.
Most people reach the temple from Battambang town, about 25 km to the south along the Sangker River. The usual way is a tuk-tuk hired for a half or full day, either directly from a driver or through a guesthouse, and the driver waits while you climb.
