Two temples in Varanasi. Bharat Mata Mandir has no online ticket listed; Kashi Vishwanath Temple has no online ticket listed. The table and the two notes below put them side by side; the full pages have what to see, the ticket and the timing for each.
There is nothing to buy for Bharat Mata Mandir. Entry is free, there is no ticket office and no timed slot, and no tour sold online is built around this temple alone. You simply walk in from the gate of the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith campus, leave your shoes outside the hall and look around at your own pace.
Most visitors arrive in one of three ways. Independent travellers take an auto-rickshaw or cycle-rickshaw from the ghats or the old city, a ride that usually takes twenty to thirty minutes depending on traffic, and ask the driver to wait while they spend half an hour inside.
General entry to Kashi Vishwanath Temple is free and needs no booking: you leave phones, cameras, bags, pens and leather items in the lockers around the gates, pass a strict security check and join the darshan queue. Non-Hindus are allowed into the temple compound.
What can be booked is offered by the temple trust itself on its official website: a paid fast-track darshan that avoids most of the general queue, and tickets for the aarti ceremonies, of which the pre-dawn Mangala aarti is the most sought after and sells out well ahead in busy months. Rudrabhishek and other rituals can also be booked through the trust. Avoid touts in the lanes who promise a quick darshan for cash.
Most visitors come on foot or by boat.
