Ben Duoc Memorial Temple (Cu Chi)

Ben Duoc Memorial Temple (Cu Chi)

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

The memorial temple stands inside the Ben Duoc section of the Cu Chi tunnels, about 70 km north-west of central Ho Chi Minh City, and it is entered with the same site ticket that covers the tunnels; there is no separate ticket for the temple and none is sold online. Most visitors come on an organised trip from the city. The many half-day Cu Chi tours by coach or minibus usually go to Ben Dinh, the closer and busier site, so if you want the temple, check that the itinerary names Ben Duoc. Tours to Ben Duoc tend to be smaller and quieter.

Cao Dai Temple, Ho Chi Minh City

Cao Dai Temple, Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

This city temple of the Cao Dai faith is a working place of worship rather than a ticketed attraction, so entry is free and nothing needs to be booked; a donation box stands inside. Travellers who want to see it simply take a taxi or ride-hailing motorbike from the centre and visit on their own, ideally around one of the daily services. Be aware that almost every tour sold online with Cao Dai in its title goes somewhere else: to the Holy See, the mother temple of the religion in Tay Ninh, about 100 km northwest of the city, which is far larger and more ornate.
