Al Bidya Mosque

Al Bidya Mosque

Fujairah, United Arab Emirates

No ticket for Al Bidya Mosque is sold online. The mosque still holds daily prayers and entry is free; outside prayer times modestly dressed visitors may look inside, leaving their shoes at the door. There is a small heritage area beside it with information panels, and women who have come without a headscarf should bring one, although robes are sometimes available on site. The mosque lies on the coast road in the village of Al Bidya, about 40 km north of Fujairah city, between Khor Fakkan and Dibba, so most visitors arrive by car. From Dubai the drive across the Hajar Mountains to the east coast takes roughly two hours.

Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Fujairah

Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Fujairah

Fujairah, United Arab Emirates

No ticket for the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah is sold online, and entry is free. It is a working mosque rather than a heritage attraction, and it does not run the large visitor centre and tour programme of its namesake in Abu Dhabi. Non-Muslim visitors are generally welcome to see the courtyard and the prayer hall outside prayer times, provided they are properly dressed; it is sensible to check the current arrangements locally, ideally through your hotel, before making a special trip. Fujairah lies on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates, about two hours by road from Dubai across the Hajar Mountains.
